Larry Minor

Larry Minor is an American racing icon.  He is one of the best known and most respected owners in all of automobile racing.  Under his ownership and direction, his teams won 54 NHRA National Championships and 3 NHRA World Championships.  His titles include NHRA Top Fuel Championships with Gary Beck in 1983 and with Dick LaHaie in 1987, as well as the 1988 IHRA Funny Car Championship with Ed McCulloch and the NHRA 1992 Funny Car Championship with Cruz Pedregon.  Larry, a former driver, has raced Top Fuel dragsters, off-road trucks, quarter-mile boats, and san-drag jeeps.  He has 2 NHRA National event titles and was the first driver to break the 5.25 second barrier.  He won many other events, including the Mexican 1000, the Baja 500, the Mint 400, and the Stardust 711.  Larry Minor was the 1968 Four Wheeler Magazine Off-Road Driver of the Year and the 1983 Car Craft Magazine NHRA Person of the Year.  In 2005, Larry was inducted into the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame. 

Today, Larry is an active member of the Hemet Jeep Club and the American Sand Association.  He is the President of Larry Minor Motorsports which creates the highly sought after “Minor Jeeps” which boast over 800 hp.
